There’s a lot of love for Instagram out there. Back in its infancy days, it was a relatively new concept and a brand new product. There were many apps that let you share pictures, but nothing socially, on a public platform and nothing dedicated to only photo sharing. Armed with just 11 filters I decided to give it a go and just like with millions of others, it captured my heart and my phone of course! Today, Instagram is a relentless powerhouse, a full blown social media network that is more than just pictures on a timeline – yes, today it initiates food lust (thanks, #foodporn!), it get’s you in the mood with a little bit of #instamood and it of course is the inspiration behind countless #travel bucket lists. But what cities have us reaching for our smartphones? Love Home Swap did a little bit of digging (or is that scrolling??) and the results may surprise you!

1. London

With over 31 million posts, it comes as no surprise that my home city is taking top spot! With Wembley to Wimbledon and everything in between to Insta, it really is impossible not to fall in love with London in all her majestic glory – just like millions of Instagram feeds will tell you! Check out one of my own favourite non-traditional London shots below!

2. Paris

City of Art, Sophistication and Romance, the wonderful Paris takes up the second spot with the emphasis on romance in a lot of Instagram pics clearly shining through. From the iconic Eiffel tour to Oscar Wilde’s tomb in Père Lachaise, Paris has Instagrammers feeling the love.

 3. Moscow

Surprisingly, Russian Capital Moscow hits the spot as the world’s third most instagrammed city with over 11 million posts. I’ve never been but with places like Saint Basil’s Cathedral in Red Square and the quirkily named and somewhat creepy looking Gorky Park, it’s no surprise it hits one of the top spots.
